چکیده

Temperature, T, dependence of the electrical conductivity, σ, of own-made polyaniline pellets, highly doped either by HCl or by dodecylbenzenesulphonic acid, is discussed. For the both dopants, a variable-range-hopping exponent 2/5 is found below T * ≈ 200−250 K. This result can be understood on the basis of a recent theory of Fogler, Teber and Shklovskii which takes into account Coulomb correlations in a three-dimensional system of chain-like conductors, predicting a power-law density of states for charge excitations around the Fermi energy. At T > T , the σ (T ) curves are steeper, implying a tendency towards nearest-neighbour hopping by a reduction of the average hopping length.

Polyaniline-Doped Spherical Polyelectrolyte Brush Nanocomposites with Enhanced Electrical Conductivity, Thermal Stability, and Solubility Property

The synthesis procedure and dopant are crucial to the electrical conductivity, thermal stability, and solubility properties of polyaniline (PANI). In this paper, high-performance PANI was synthesized by means of chemical oxidative polymerization using anionic spherical polyelectrolyte brushes (ASPB) as dopant. The bonding structure, crystallographic structure, morphology, and thermal stability ...

Novel Intrinsic Conducting Polymer Current Limiting Device (CLD) for Surge Protection

In the past many uneconomic solutions for limitation and interruption of short-circuit currents in low power applications have been introduced, especially polymer switch based on the positive temperature coefficient of resistance (PCTR) concept. However there are many limitations in the active material, which consists of conductive fillers. This paper presents a significantly improved and simpl...

The growth processes of Tetragonal single crystals of solid solution (Cd0.6Zn0.32Mn0.08)3As2, space group P42/nmc, has been synthesized by Bridgman method. Conductivity and magnetoresistance of (Cd0.6Zn0.32Mn0.08)3As2 were measured in the range 1.6K to 300K and in magnetic field up to 25 T. Crossover from Mott variable-range-hopping conductivity mechanism close to helium temperatures. In this w...

Temperature Dependence of Electrical Properties in Regioregular Poly(3-hexylthiophene) Modulated by Chemical Doping

Electrical conductivity and Seebeck coefficient in regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene) (RR-P3HT) doped with iodine (I2) have been studied in temperature (T) range from 4.2 K to 300 K and from 77 K to 300 K, respectively. In spite of high doping rate (about 30%), RR-P3HT doped with I2 shows a semiconductive behavior in view of temperature dependence of both electrical conductivity and Seebeck co...

Hopping versus bulk conductivity in transparent oxides: 12CaO·7Al2O3

First-principles calculations of the mayenite-based oxide, fCa12Al14O32gs2ed, reveal the mechanism responsible for its high conductivity. A detailed comparison of the electronic and optical properties of this material with those of the recently discovered transparent conducting oxide, H-doped UV-activated Ca12Al14O33, allowed us to conclude that the enhanced conductivity in fCa12Al14O32gs2ed is...
